Africa Gas Technology Company Limited is a representing company of Energy Ventures B.V. (EVBV) and FlareOut® in Africa. AfricaGTC is leading the implementation of projects to eliminate routine gas flaring in oil & gas producing assets using patent pending technology - FlareOut - developed in The Netherlands in collaboration with Technical University Delft.
Our first plant - Agbada 2 FlareOut Project - is being developed with Heirs Energies Limited near Port Harcourt. The project will generate 20MW of electricity and 7 Tonnes of LPG per day when completed in 2026.

AfricaGTC, in partnership with Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company PLC (PHED), is working to deploy an Advanced Metering Solution (AMI) to enable efficient distribution of electricity generated from Agbada-2 FlareOut® project to the neighboring communities in Ikwerre and Obio-Akpo Local Government Areas. The AMI solution is based on OmniMesh RF technology. EVBV is the solution partner in Nigeria. The project will include network upgrade, maintenance and operations to ensure 24/7 power supply for 15 years.
Sustainability
Gas flaring contributes 500 million tons of CO2 emmision per annum. Stopping routine flaring is not only beneficial for the environment by reducing GHG emissions, but the resulting captured gas also provides clean energy for homes and businesses. The Agbada-2 FlareOut®project will supply electricity and clean cooking gas to 50,000 homes and businesses in the neigbouring communities.
FlareOut® technology is also applicable to Bio-Gas processing, leading to development of projects that recycle agricultural waste for the production of Bio-Methane and other clean fuels.
